Will There Be 'The Outer Worlds' TV Show? Here's What We Know

The Outer Worlds is the perfect universe for bringing to the screen. But will it actually happen? Let's take a look at the endless possibilities of the franchise.
The Outer Worlds was released in 2019 and has since become a beloved sci-fi RPG for many (me included). With The Outer Worlds 2 set to release on October 29, 2025, the franchise's momentum is stronger than ever.
Why we love ‘The Outer Worlds’: the anti-corporate satire, dark humor, and dystopian sci-fi universe make the game particularly enjoyable. Plus, it's extremely replayable considering the number of thoughtful options built into the story.
Will there be a show? While there's no TV series in development yet, The Outer Worlds has already dipped its toes into the different format. The game was featured in an episode of Secret Level titled “The Outer Worlds: The Company We Keep” (Season 1, Episode 9).

Although the episode did not fully grasp the complexity of the game, it offered a glimpse of what The Outer Worlds universe could look like in a different medium.
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video.
‘The Outer Worlds’ Would Actually Make a Great TV Show
The fact that Secret Level featured The Outer Worlds is a proof that there's definitely interest in exploring this universe beyond just gaming. And it's no surprise. The game has a very high potential of becoming the next streaming hit.
Idea: they could adapt the first game. But I personally believe that it would be even more interesting to see some different characters dealing with their own story.
There's so much potential for both comedy and drama here, especially with all the customization of the game.
Bottom line: we need more quality dystopian sci-fi and The Outer Worlds can provide a huge playground to work with.
