You may not find it among his directorial works, but the George Clooney-led action horror movie is still one of Tarantino’s finest works.

Quentin Tarantino is yet to bring to the screens his tenth and presumably final movie sometime in the future, but he actually has a lot more under his belt.

Having started out in the industry without much knowledge and proper diploma, Tarantino was saving up for making his 1992 hit debut Reservoir Dogs by selling his other scripts to prominent directors, with one of the most famous being Tony Scott’s 1993 romantic crime movie True Romance.

However, the director continued writing for fellow filmmakers even after releasing his other big hit Pulp Fiction, adding more flicks to his portfolio as a writer and actor — including a vampire horror starring George Clooney.

  • On IMDb, the movie is rated 7.2/10

Before proceeding to bigger heights in his directorial career with 1997’s Jackie Brown, Tarantino also spent some time trying to get out of a tramp arranged by a horde of vampires in From Dusk till Dawn.

Also starring George Clooney in the leading role, the movie follows two criminal brothers as they run to the Mexican border after a bank robbery with multiple victims.

After kidnapping a preacher and his kids, the two find themselves in a bar which, unfortunately, also happens to be a home base for a gang of vampires.

To survive, the criminals and their hostages have to join the forces and find a way out until the vampires suck all the blood out of them.

‘From Dusk till Dawn’ Walked So That ‘Sinners’ Could Run

  • On Rotten Tomatoes, Sinners keeps a score of 96% from both critics and audiences
  • On IMDb, the movie rates 7.7/10

One of the biggest hits of this year and highest-grossing horrors of the decade, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners draws a clear parallel with Robert Rodriguez’s movie in its storyline, with Michael B. Jordan playing a double role of twin brothers who are also attacked by a horde of vampires in a local bar.

In fact, Coogler even mentioned From Dusk till Dawn while talking about his inspiration for Sinners, also praising Rodriguez for another horror movie, The Faculty.

“Robert Rodriguez is a big one. I think on the nose it would be easy to make From Dusk to Dawn comparisons. But it is actually quite close to The Faculty, which is the remake of The Thing, which is one of my favorite movies”, Coogler said in an interview with Nerdist back in January.
