Quentin Tarantino has a self-imposed limit of just 10 films before he calls it quits. The director wants to go out on top rather than fade away. Let's look back at his filmography so far and find out which Tarantino film reigns supreme.

Blood, violence, and snappy dialogue: these are all the unmistakable ingredients of a Quentin Tarantino movie. And we all love to see him make more movies. However, with his 10-film limit, Tarantino has just one more movie before he retires.

Whether you agree with his retirement plans or not, there's really no way to influence his decision. Today, we're ranking every Tarantino movie so far based on IMDb rating.

10. ‘Death Proof’ (2007)

IMDb score: 7.0/10.

Tarantino made Death Proof as part of the “Grindhouse” double feature with Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror. The film follows Stuntman Mike, who uses his “death proof” stunt car to murder young women.

“This is cinema classic - fantastic, witty dialog, lots of humor, two amazing action scenes, one consisting of an outstanding car stunt that always gives me chills in the stomach, and a great "women's revenge" ending,” sbcara on IMDb wrote.

Tarantino himself, however, begs to differ, having called Death Proof the worst movie he has ever made.

9. ‘Jackie Brown’ (1997)

IMDb score: 7.5/10.

A film follows a flight attendant who gets caught smuggling money for an arms dealer. With a killer soundtrack and a more laid-back vibe than Tarantino's usual fare, Jackie Brown pays homage to blaxploitation films.

“All in all I feel this movie is underrated. It's enjoyable, well made and stylish,” Antagonisten on IMDb pointed out.

Available on: Fandango At Home, Microsoft Store, Amazon Video, Apple TV.

8. ‘Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood’ (2019)

IMDb score: 7.6/10.

Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood is the latest movie in Tarantino's collection. The film follows a movie star Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth as they try to deal with the changing landscape of the entertainment industry.

“Acting is great all around and saves it somewhat but like too often these days I really feel the script was weak,” awdboosted95 on IMDb shared.

7. ‘The Hateful Eight’ (2015)

IMDb score: 7.8/10.

This western throws its characters together in a Wyoming cabin during a blizzard. Its claustrophobic setting and tense standoffs makes The Hateful Eight feel like a bloody stage play. Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell lead an all-star cast in this snow-covered mystery that keeps you guessing until the brutal end.

Available on: Netflix.

6. ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 2’ (2004)

IMDb score: 8.0/10.

Vol. 2 explores the relationship between The Bride and Bill through flashbacks and conversations. It's a more thoughtful companion to the blood-soaked first chapter.

Kill Bill Volume 2 has to be in the sentence with Aliens, Terminator 2, Evil Dead, and The Godfather Part II. this has to be one of the greatest sequels of all time,” compactDiSc on IMDb said.

Available on: AMC+, AMC, Philo.

5. ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 1’ (2003)

IMDb score: 8.2/10.

This martial arts revenge flick follows The Bride as she wakes from a coma and sets out to kill the assassination squad that betrayed her. With its anime sequence, epic sword fights, and yellow jumpsuit, Vol. 1 is a tribute to kung fu films.

Fun fact: Tarantino doesn’t think of Kill Bill as 2 separate movies. So he did not break his 10-movie rule here.

Available on: AMC+, AMC, Philo

4. ‘Reservoir Dogs’ (1992)

IMDb score: 8.3/10.

Tarantino's debut follows a group of criminals after a jewelry heist gone wrong. It has all the staples: non-linear storytelling, pop culture-filled dialogue and unforgettable characters like Mr. Pink and Mr. Blonde.

“This is not a normal crime film. The thing that really sets Reservoir Dogs apart from all of the others is that it is PURE. When you look at the screen, you're looking at reality,” Anonymous_Maxine on IMDb wrote.

Available on: fuboTV, Paramount+.

3. ‘Inglourious Basterds’ (2009)

IMDb score: 8.4/10.

Inglourious Basterds features Brad Pitt leading a squad of Jewish-American soldiers on a mission to take down Hitler's regime. Tense scenes, explosive climax, and Tarantino's signature dialogue are guaranteed.

Available on: fuboTV, Philo.

2. ‘Django Unchained’ (2012)

IMDb score: 8.5/10.

Tarantino's take on the spaghetti western follows freed slave Django and bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz as they hunt down Django's wife from the clutches of a brutal plantation owner.

“For anyone who isn't much into cinema, I would recommend watching Django Unchained and you will fall in love with films forever,” alexcole10 on IMDb shared.
