Fans of psychological thrillers might want to save the movie to their watchlist as it’s currently available for everyone to see for free on The Roku Channel.

Also starring Cary Elwes in one of the leading roles, The Crush follows Nick Eliot, a 28-year-old writer moving to a new city after securing a job in a magazine. Upon arrival, he rents a guesthouse that belongs to Cliff and Liv Forrester, with whom he soon becomes friends close enough to visit their house and meet their 14-year-old daughter Adrian, portrayed by Alicia Silverstone.

The latter quickly grows fond of the newcomer and doesn’t hide her attraction to Nick, which he tries not to respond to.

As Nick himself soon begins a romance with a colleague, Adrian’s advances become more pressing, and the situation gets extremely dangerous when the girl, rejected for yet another time, starts attacking Nick’s property and friends.

However, The Crush received a second chance when it was first released on video, later on also becoming a popular choice for TV channels’ programmes. Years later, the movie reached the status of cult classic of the genre and also became one of Alicia Silverstone’s most notable films in the entire career.

On Rotten Tomatoes, The Crash’s audience score is a bit more positive than the critical one, reaching 42% of favorable reviews.
