Liza is a linguist and translator from a small Siberian town who joined the world of entertainment media straight out of university — and has been writing, editing, translating, and digging into the overlooked corners of cinema for nearly seven months now.

She’s endlessly curious about how meaning travels between languages — especially when it comes to idioms, culturally-loaded phrases, or memes.

Cinema, for Liza, isn’t just content — it’s communication, a visual language that says what words sometimes can’t. She writes with the passion of someone who grew up loving movies and now shares that love with fellow fans. Her soft spot is for carefully crafted films that treat art like a form of human connection.

A big fan of A24 — for giving space to brave, deeply talented voices — and of Wes Anderson, for his style, soundtracks, and characters that feel so close to the heart. Wes, the Moomins, and Mgzavrebi are the ultimate soul-healers.
