Team Startefacts

I'm no Aja Romano, but I try.

Marvel, Supernatural, Star Trek, and everything fandom-related in between. If it's worth reading, watching, or listening to — I'm on it, and telling you about it.

I've been at Startefacts since the actual beginning back in 2022.

One of my early assignments was covering CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where I sat in a dark hall geeking out over Doctor Strange footage and thought: God, this is a dream job for me.

Well, turns out — not THE dream job, per se. Entertainment journalism is hard, harder than ever in 2026, with AI threatening your integrity and your work ethic at every turn. But hey: I still try. I love what I do, and I love writing about the MCU, however shitty their movies have gotten over the last few years. I'm still in my chair in a movie theater when a new Nolan movie comes out, or a Guy Ritchie movie, or frankly any Statham movie.

What I cover: the MCU and superhero cinema, long-running genre TV (Supernatural, Star Trek, and their fandoms), fan culture and how it shapes what gets made, action filmmaking and the directors who take it seriously.

How I work: I watch the thing before I write about it — the whole thing, not the recap. I rewatch scenes when my memory isn't reliable, which is often. I check release dates, credits, production history, and source material against primary sources — press notes, the books, the people who made it — not the top-ranking aggregator. If I got something wrong, I fix it and say so in the piece.

Where else to find me: Twitter/X — tips, corrections, and complaints about my Statham opinions all welcome.

Let's review what CBS has done to Matlock, a show that hands the network stellar ratings, awards-season Kathy Bates, and me, personally, screaming at my television every Thursday.

On September 8, 1966, "The Man Trap" opened a series NBC would cancel within three years. Sixty years on, the franchise is marking the date with 4K screenings across the country, a world record attempt in London — and a badge from the show flying on the ISS.

Historians still can't name what killed Shakespeare's son: how much of "Hamnet" is actually true
I have now watched Jessie Buckley cradle a dying child twice, which is two more times than my tear ducts signed up for. And both times, somewhere around the third act, the same nagging thought crawled in: wait, how much of this actually happened?

Taylor Swift's advice starts with "never believe anyone" — the rest is the part worth stealing
There's a Taylor Swift quote that has been living rent-free on Pinterest boards, graduation cards, and at least one mug I refuse to name since roughly the Fearless era. It gets reposted every time she does literally anything, which means it gets reposted constantly.

Nintendo's Zelda movie is just called The Legend of Zelda, and the missing subtitle is deliberate
Forty years after the first game, Nintendo told everyone what to call the movie. The answer is four words long, has no colon in it, and according to Shigeru Miyamoto that is not a placeholder — it is a hint about what kind of Zelda story this actually is.

Ten days ago Google Maps started calling Lake Ontario "Lake America." Apple fell in line on September 1. On Tuesday the show that has spent 29 years refusing to shut up decided both companies deserved a thank-you note — and renamed itself to match.
