Team Startefacts

I'm no Aja Romano, but I try.

Marvel, Supernatural, Star Trek, and everything fandom-related in between. If it's worth reading, watching, or listening to — I'm on it, and telling you about it.

I've been at Startefacts since the actual beginning back in 2022.

One of my early assignments was covering CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where I sat in a dark hall geeking out over Doctor Strange footage and thought: God, this is a dream job for me.

Well, turns out — not THE dream job, per se. Entertainment journalism is hard, harder than ever in 2026, with AI threatening your integrity and your work ethic at every turn. But hey: I still try. I love what I do, and I love writing about the MCU, however shitty their movies have gotten over the last few years. I'm still in my chair in a movie theater when a new Nolan movie comes out, or a Guy Ritchie movie, or frankly any Statham movie.

What I cover: the MCU and superhero cinema, long-running genre TV (Supernatural, Star Trek, and their fandoms), fan culture and how it shapes what gets made, action filmmaking and the directors who take it seriously.

How I work: I watch the thing before I write about it — the whole thing, not the recap. I rewatch scenes when my memory isn't reliable, which is often. I check release dates, credits, production history, and source material against primary sources — press notes, the books, the people who made it — not the top-ranking aggregator. If I got something wrong, I fix it and say so in the piece.

Where else to find me: Twitter/X — tips, corrections, and complaints about my Statham opinions all welcome.

Raise your hand if you had William Macon locked up, tried, and sentenced by episode two. Yeah. Me too. The alien-hating rancher with the private kill squad and the permanent scowl — Garret Dillahunt was practically wearing a "I Am The Manhunter, Ask Me How" sandwich board.

What did Chad Powers do? The 10 seconds that turned a college star into a national punchline
Technically, Chad Powers did nothing. Chad Powers doesn't exist. He's a wig, a prosthetic face, and a chirpy "yes ma'am" energy stretched over the smoldering wreck of a man named Russ Holliday.

Who is Marshall in Furious? TV's go-to nice guy plays his scariest creep yet
Somewhere around episode two of Hulu's Furious, I caught myself doing the thing. You know the thing. Marshall apologizes, his eyes go soft, and some traitorous part of my brain whispered: maybe he means it this time.

Why 500 years in Silo? Season 3 slipped the answer into one flashback line
Every dystopia has a number, and Silo finally coughed up its own. Not in a big speech, not in a document Juliette risks her life to steal — in a single line tucked into the season's flashback machinery, gone before half the audience registered it.

Who dropped the bomb in Silo: not Iran, not a rogue AI — the trail leads someone far closer
Three seasons of Silo, and Apple TV+ finally showed us the end of the world: a nuke over Atlanta, a mushroom cloud, thousands of people herded underground forever. What the show very deliberately did not show us is a return address on that missile.

Let's take a moment for CEO Kang Ha-gi (Kang Hoon), a man who spent weeks convinced that the corporate mole bleeding his company dry was... the new girl who joined specifically to breathe the same air as her idol. Detective work: zero. Confidence: unlimited.

How does The Invite end after that swap proposal? Not the way rom-coms taught you
You know the rules. Boy meets girl, misunderstanding at the airport, kiss in the rain, credits. Olivia Wilde looked at that formula, poured it a glass of champagne, and then threw it off the balcony.

How many Fast and the Furious movies exist? Even die-hard fans stumble on the count
Ask a room full of Fast & Furious fans how many movies there are and watch the room descend into chaos. Someone says ten. Someone says eleven. Someone in the back starts yelling about a 2002 indie drama, and honestly? The person in the back has a point.

Real linguists tested how Rocky understands Grace in Project Hail Mary — and split on the verdict
The internet agreed on exactly one thing this year: Rocky, the spider-shaped engineer who chirps in chords and says "amaze," is the best character of 2026. No notes. Ten out of ten. Question, question.

How did the crew die in Project Hail Mary? Andy Weir knows — and he's saving the answer
There's a special club of pop-culture mysteries that drive people quietly insane: what's in the Pulp Fiction briefcase, what did Bill Murray whisper in Lost in Translation. This year's inductee involves two dead astronauts and a man who refuses to elaborate.
