A slight bump in the road — atrial fibrillation just before the operation — understandably made things sound more urgent than they were. But according to insiders, he’s resting, recovering, and in good spirits. Crisis averted.
And what was he doing in Italy before heading into surgery? Location scouting. That’s right — at 85, fresh off the chaos of Megalopolis, he’s already thinking about the next one. Retire? Not a chance.
Which brings us back to Megalopolis. The film has become a conversation in itself — a polarising, visually audacious, self-funded project that Coppola poured $120 million of his own money into.
