Netflix and chill… ing shows?

With Netflix raising the price of its monthly subscriptions almost every month these days, you better get the most out of yours. The good news is, with the holidays coming up, you'll have plenty of reasons to binge on some fun (or slightly disturbing) shows.

Looking for shows to get you in the Halloween spirit? Here are 10, ranging from the mildly spooky to the truly terrifying, that you can watch today.

The Walking Dead

This zombie classic is for those who prefer their horror very graphic, direct and physical. Considering the popularity of The Walking Dead universe, there's a good chance that all of your guests will be familiar with it, so the show won't be the main focus of the party, but rather a nice addition to the background.

Hellbound

A Korean horror is always worth your attention, especially when it deals with an alternate universe full of hulking supernatural monsters and consists of only 6 episodes. The series has been renewed for a second season, as confirmed by Netflix back in 2022, but there's no information about its release, so it's a perfect time to revisit it.

The Haunting of Hill House

Adapted from Shirley Jackson's 1959 novel of the same name, this show may confuse viewers a bit thanks to two different timelines, so it's probably not your choice if you want to have a drink or two. However, if you are planning a sober Halloween, it would be a real crime to deprive yourself of such a masterpiece.

Midnight Mass

Following the success of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor was no easy task, but Mike Flanagan managed to top himself with Midnight Mass. If you always found churches a bit intimidating, you would only confirm that by watching the show.

Well, at least there will be another priest to add to the list of possible costume ideas!

Cracow Monsters

Another foreign series that you might enjoy if you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing piece to put you in the atmosphere of European streets is Cracow Monsters. Chances are not many of your friends have seen it, so it would be a new journey to take together. Bonus points if anyone has actually been to the Polish capital city and can recognize some of the places on screen.

Stranger Things

One of Netflix's biggest hits is absolutely perfect for any Halloween party. It is popular, it is scary, but not scary enough to traumatize someone for the rest of their life. Also, there will probably still be a few Elevens running around the house in 2023, so they would appreciate your support of their choice.

Slasher

Although the platform on which the show started, Chiller, didn't last long, the show itself was able to successfully migrate to Netflix and stay there for the full three seasons. Believe us when we say that three seasons is more than enough to get scared to your bones and fall in love with the storytelling style of horror.

Black Mirror

Although the last season received some controversial reviews, it was still just scary enough to be appropriate for the season. This particular show would also be a perfect choice for anyone who wants to make sure their party is completely phone free. Let's just enjoy the moment, even if it makes you think about where humanity is headed in the future.

Marianne

One person you might not expect to see in Horror is Call Me by Your Name alum Victoire Du Bois. However, she handles the role perfectly, and the series makes you want more from the very first episodes. It only has one flaw: Netflix decided to cancel it too early, without even exploring the promising universe in a second season.

The Fall of the House of Usher

The newest addition to the list is a must see for anyone who hasn't already. Coming your way is a show known on the web as "spooky Succession, " as if complicated family dynamics weren't scary enough on their own.

If you're looking for a show that not many people have seen that you can enjoy with your friends, The Fall of the House of Usher might be just what you're looking for.
