Is it possible to tune your future career with positive thinking and public predictions? As it turns out, it is — but only if you're the seventeen-year-old Tom Holland.

As far as Tom Holland 's superpowers go, everyone's well aware of his web-slinging, wall-climbing, and danger-sensing abilities.

Granted, they only work when Tom stands in front of a green screen, it's still fairly impressive; but apparently, the actor's got more aces up his sleeves in terms of supernatural abilities.

Exactly a decade ago, Tom Holland publicly predicted his own future as an actor.

At the 2013 Empire Awards, the young actor (Tom was only seventeen back then) was asked one of the most classical questions a reporter can possibly ask a junior star: which superhero would he want to play if he got the chance?

"Maybe Spider-Man in, like, 10 years' time. Maybe," replied Holland, and this is the precise quote.

Once again, it's been a decade ago — and now, Tom's already been playing Spider-Man for quite a few years. Still, his prediction was rather accurate.

Actually, Tom Holland first played Spider-Man just three years after that interview, in 2016.

As the young actor joked with the reporter, he indeed starred in the "reboot of the reboot," becoming the third Spider-Man actor after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield — and later even had an amazing crossover movie with them both.

Some might say that Tom's successful prediction is a great example of positive thinking, but there's obviously much more than that.

It's a great example of what positive thinking can achieve when paired with passion, talent, and hard work in one's field… And maybe just a bit of luck.

After all, how can we be sure that the very fact that Tom publicly stated his desire to play Spider-Man didn't affect the director's choice?

It's more than possible that it drew just the right amount of attention to Tom Holland, and then he just had to show off his acting skills at the audition he wouldn't have even gotten otherwise.
