1923’s Michelle Randolph Breaks Down on Her Character’s Fate in Season 2 Approaching Finale

It might be officially the end of an era for Taylor Sheridan ’s 1923 which so far hasn’t been greenlit for another season, but fans can still expect an epic and pretty lengthy conclusion to the story after a series of jaw-dropping events in the latest episode.

Without going much into spoilers, the show’s season 2 episode 6 has witnessed a handful of major deaths, leaving the lead characters coping with a big tragedy ahead of an even more ruthless fight for the Dutton’s family ranch.

This season’s finale, which has recently been confirmed to have an extensive runtime of nearly 2 hours, is also likely to have another heartbreaking outcome, which is what one of 1923’s stars has recently hinted at.

Michelle Randolph Says She ‘Cried Every Time’ She Read 1923 Season 2 Finale Script

The actress, who in the show portrays Jack Dutton’s wife Elizabeth, has offered another portion of praise for Taylor Sheridan’s writing talent in a recent interview with People.

Randolph gushed over the writer-director’s season 2 script, admitting she “cried every single time that I read it. You don't get desensitized to it” and adding that the final episode will come as the pure climax of both events of the show and Sheridan’s brilliance as a TV writer, which 1923’s fans should definitely be excited about.

Talking about the path her character has chosen in the ongoing season, the actress revealed that Elizabeth had gone through a lot and since then had changed significantly, compared to who she was in season 1 when she just got married to Jack.

“We see her find her strength. Now that she's a Dutton, we get to see her really come into herself, which is exactly what was so fun to play about it ... We get to see this evolution of who she's becoming”, Rudolph added.

Things Look Way More Complicated for Elizabeth After That Episode 6 Shocking Plot Twist

The finale of Sheridan’s hit prequel show will see the eventual and most intriguing outcome after Jack Dutton (spoilers ahead) has been killed while encountering Clyde and Alec in the forest.

The death of one of the possible heirs to the family ranch is likely to become a starting point for the long-overdue war between the Duttons and Banner, but will also determine the fate of Jack’s wife Elizabeth.

Initially planning to leave the ranch, the latter eventually made up her mind, leaving her personal issues with the place behind just for her husband’s happiness.

Now that Elizabeth knows she’s pregnant, she will likely face a huge moral dilemma, coming to realise that Jack has chosen to die for his family home and never prioritised his wife’s well-being after all.

1923’s season 2 episode 7 will air on Paramount+ on April 6.
