And finally our eyes could see.

Better Call Saul is considered one of the few prequels that successfully expands on its original series. As complete as Breaking Bad was on the narrative front, there were still some things left untold and some blanks left for the spinoff to fill.

And the new show did the job successfully, not only giving us one of the most amazing stories of the slippery lawyer Saul Goodman, but also answering some questions that kept bugging fans.

5. Hector Salamanca’s hatred towards Gus

Although Breaking Bad hints at the fact that these two share an unhappy bond, the show never clarifies why Hector hated Gus so much. Thanks to Better Call Saul, we now know that Gus not only deliberately keeps Hector alive to make him suffer, but he also kills Lalo, Hector's nephew.

Though Hector can't prove the latter, he rightly expects it, and it drives his need for revenge in Breaking Bad.

4. Vacuum Cleaner repairman

The vacuum cleaner repairman shows up a few times in Breaking Bad, almost helping Jesse escape Walter and the cartel, and later helping Walt and Saul avoid being caught.

Better Call Saul reveals how they came to know each other. Saul finds his info while visiting Dr. Caldera, a veterinarian with some illegal extracurricular activities. Saul puts his information away for later, and it clearly comes in handy during Breaking Bad.

3. Mike trying to save Jesse

Mike Ehrmantraut really does his best to protect Jesse from Walter and Gus, and Better Call Saul provides some insight into why he is being like that. Before the events of two shows, Mike fails to save his son from a corrupt cop. And later, he fails to save Nacho Varga from the cartel in Better Call Saul.

So saving Jesse was important to him because he failed to save two other guys that he shared a bond with.

2. The advice to find a good lawyer

When Walt and Jesse got into their questionable business, Jesse suggested that they found a “criminal” lawyer just in case. And he also was the one to find Saul Goodman and make Walter hire him.

But until Better Call Saul premiered, we didn't know how Jesse came to make such a wise decision. Turns out it was Kim who convinced him to hire Saul because he was “the real deal.”

1. The becoming of Saul Goodman

The story of Jimmy McGill turning into Saul Goodman was the reason the show was created in the first place. The prequel really shows the backstory of its titular character and all the dirty things that he did that made him the criminal that he was. But without Chuck's desire to hold him back and Kim's influence, Jimmy would never have become Saul.
