It wasn't all about Lucifer after all!

It's no surprise that the vast majority of Supernatural fans are fond of the show's protagonists, the Winchester brothers.

They're smart, they're funny, and they're extremely badass at what they do: fighting demons and driving their signature black 1967 Chevrolet Impala into the sunset.

But without those demons, the show just wouldn't be the same. And while it's harder to root for them in the same way, the fanbase can definitely appreciate them and give them credit where credit is due.

Mark Pellegrino, who portrayed Lucifer in the series, received a lot of praise for his performance.

As the central antagonist of the franchise throughout the seasons, it's hard to deny his impact on the story. However, many fans argue that there are other characters who deserve similar praise.

Here are 5 Supernatural villains who deserve more recognition.

Original Death

As much as many enjoyed Billie Death, the original Death will always hold a special place in the hearts of fans. There is nothing scarier than death itself, and Julian Richings did a great job portraying it on screen.

Also, fans found the balance between just the right amount of contempt for humanity and timeless wisdom especially charming.

Alastair

You know the villain is good when he gives you nightmares for weeks.

With creepy undertones in his voice, blank white eyeballs, and extremely convincing acting from all the men he has possessed, Alastair is a demon to remember.

Dick Roman

As the main antagonist for season 7 of the series, Dick Roman deserved a lot more love than he got. Portrayed by James Patrick Stuart, he captured the best of the brutality of both the underground and corporate worlds.

Many fans also feel that his chemistry with Crowley deserves special recognition.

Gordon Walker

A great example of a multi-layered character who turns out to be much more evil than he first appears.

When you find out that he has virtually no remorse for all of his killings, including not only vampires but humans as well, you understand the true darkness of his nature.

Metatron

One thing fans appreciate about Metatron is that he is a perfect example of how power can corrupt one's character.

It is still questionable to some if he can be considered a 100% villain, but his character, portrayed by Curtis Armstrong in a series, certainly stands out among others.
