Choose wisely, there's so much more to explore!

Taylor Sheridan is a huge name in the industry for the Yellowstone franchise alone — turning so many people into Western fans really deserves praise.

Yellowstone is the original series about the Dutton family, but it already has several spinoffs that are even more popular than their predecessor. The thing is, more are coming! It seems that Sheridan is not ready to let go of the western genre, even though some viewers are getting a little tired of all the Dutton Shenanigans.

Sheridan's newest work, Landman, is another take on West Texas that is yet to achieve the same level of popularity as Yellowstone. Still, people automatically tune in because they know it’s something from this particular director.

But what if we told you there was more to his talent than that? Check out these 5 Taylor Sheridan projects that we guarantee you will not want to miss.

1. Sicario (2015)

You realize the movie will be amazing when you see who are the ones responsible for it to come out. In this case, there was no chance that it’s going to be bad, because Denis Villeneuve was the director of the movie, and Taylor Sheridan the writer. Add to it an amazing cast (Emily Blunt is enough), and you get everything for a perfect movie.

It revolves around an idealistic FBI agent who is recruited by a government task force to help in the escalating war on drugs along the U.S.-Mexico border. And as routine as it may sound at first, nothing about this story is ordinary.

“Brilliant movie. The opening scene immediately sets the tone for what we are geared up for for the next 2 hours. Dark, serious and gritty. The border scene. The feeling of unease, we know something is about to happen. The lack of music and the build up. A dog barks which just cements the atmosphere. Even the dog knew sh*t was going down and all was not good,” Redditor Formerfruit said.

2. Wind River (2017)

Another first-rate movie from Sheridan is Wind River. It revolves around a wildlife officer who is haunted by a tragedy he caused. He teams up with an FBI agent to solve the murder of a young woman on a Native American reservation in Wyoming and hopes to find redemption for his past mistakes.

Fans were absolutely blown away by the overwhelming plot and brilliant acting. And the way Jeremy Renner owned the role of Cory Lambert with all his flaws and hopes was really everything.

3. Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)

A movie that is actually the reason Sheridan's Fast is still in production. He was so eager to make it that he delayed the development of Fast and probably lost Chriss Pratt as his main star.

The movie follows a boy who witnesses the murder of his father and goes on the run with a survival expert, played by the one and only Angelina Jolie, in the Montana wilderness to escape a pair of assassins hired to kill him. But it won't be easy for them: the wilderness is not so welcoming.

4. 1923 (2022)

While there is much debate as to whether 1923 is the best or worst in the Yellowstone franchise, we recommend that you watch it and make up your own mind. In this spinoff, the Duttons face a new set of challenges, including the rise of western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression.

5. Mayor of Kingstown ( 2021)

Last but not least, The Kingstown. The fictional town from the title thrives on a rather, err, unique business — incarceration. At the center of the show is the McLusky family, who are power brokers. They are forced to deal with systemic racism, corruption, and inequality on a daily basis.

Another Sheridan project with Jeremy Renner, this television series will surely conquer the hearts of crime thriller lovers.
