'Amazed People Noticed': Heartbreaking Brienne and Jaime Theory Confirmed by Game of Thrones Creators Themselves

The feelings that flared up between the heroes were far from fleeting.
The Game of Thrones finale was rightly a low blow for many, but Brienne and Jaime's story was one of the most bittersweet. She truly loved him, he seemed to have finally thawed... and it was all over so quickly, as if their feelings were just an awkward typo in the script. However, almost immediately after the series ended, fans had one theory that could soften this final blow. And it turned out to be true.
In Brienne's final scene, when she records Jaime's exploits in the White Book, music suddenly starts playing — and yes, it is a greeting from the carefree past. Fans quickly recognized it as a song called "I Am Hers, She Is Mine," which was played at Robb Stark and Talisa's wedding in season three. And this, as it turns out, was no coincidence.
Series composer Ramin Djawadi confirmed that he did indeed use that very theme to hint at what Brienne and Jaime's relationship might have been like. He even added notes from the theme "Honor" to the composition, emphasizing that their relationship was not only romantic, but also based on respect and loyalty.
"It's a hint of what might have been if they had stayed together. I was surprised that some people noticed it," the renowned master of the musical staff explained.
The composer didn't think that anyone would grasp the meaning of this musical quote, at most they would remember the familiar melody.
And this makes the finale not so empty. Because Brienne and Jaime's love did exist, just short, but real.
