What happens to Jason in The Oval? The First Son's body count keeps rising — and half the fandom cheers him on

Seven seasons into The Oval, we need to have a talk about Jason Franklin. Not an intervention — it's far, far too late for that — just a status update, because the First Son of Tyler Perry's White House has spent the final season doing what he does best: making the Secret Service earn their dental plans.

Quick refresher for anyone who wandered in late: Jason (Daniel Croix Henderson) is the son of President Hunter Franklin and First Lady Victoria, a couple whose parenting style can be generously described as "absent, but with security clearance." Season 6 ended with Jason in surgery, hovering between life and death, and the only real question was whether he'd wake up with a new outlook or a new to-do list. Reader, it was the to-do list.

The season 7 rap sheet (so far)

The show wraps for good on September 30, and Jason is treating the finale like a deadline. This season alone:

• The White House went into full meltdown after Trent's body turned up — with Jason at the center of the frenzy, obviously;
• He's been actively hunting agents, to the point that Victoria and Agent Isaac decided to handle the Jason Problem themselves;
• He chained up Rachel, put Kyle within an inch of his life, and generally turned the property into a haunted house with a congressional budget.

And here's the fun part: the audience is thrilled. This has been true for years — his own actor confirmed it.

"People actually root for him," Daniel Croix Henderson told TVLine, marveling that fans openly request specific victims in his mentions.

So... what actually happens to him?

The honest answer: the jury — and Tyler Perry — are still out. The final episodes are airing weekly through the end of September, Jason is mid-rampage, and half the White House wants him dead while the other half wants him committed. Henderson himself has been praying for a softer landing for years.

"My prayer is that he gets drenched in the holy water," he told BET, which is both a joke and, given this character, a legitimate production request.

Redemption or body bag: those are the options, and with this show, honestly, why not both.
