What happened to Sharon in The Oval? Sharon's full story on Tyler Perry's BET drama — the love triangle, the pharmacy disaster, and where she finally ended up.

Sharon spent her time on The Oval standing at the exact intersection of two men's worst impulses. On one side: Barry, her boyfriend, a man processing his daughter's kidnapping with the emotional tools of a slammed door. On the other: Kareem, her ex and her boss, who owned the pharmacy where she worked and which — per neighborhood consensus — was a drug front. Sharon allegedly "did the cutting." Romance!

The truck heard round the district

When Barry found out about Sharon and Kareem's rekindling, he did not journal about it. He drove his truck through the front of Kareem's pharmacy — a moment so unhinged that even the man behind the wheel didn't believe it.

"I never saw Barry driving his truck into the pharmacy store," Vaughn W. Hebron admitted, saying he had to reread the script to make sure he had it right the first time.

Barry's follow-up plan for the relationship was to simply never discuss any of it — the cheating, the truck, the drugs — a strategy scholars call "the Hallsen method."

Sharon's villain-adjacent era

To her credit, Sharon got the best material of anyone in that triangle once Barry disappeared:

  • she found Barry's bloody phone and clocked immediately that Kareem was hiding something enormous;
  • when Kareem trapped her in his apartment with what she believed was Barry's body, she beat that man nearly to death with her bare hands;
  • she's the one who told the police Kareem confessed to killing Barry, detonating what was left of the triangle.

And then... nothing

Here's the part that stings: after carrying all that, Sharon just evaporated. By the later seasons she'd quietly stopped appearing, no send-off, no funeral scene, no explanatory line of dialogue — recappers were literally asking on the record what happened to her, noting she "just vanished off the series." The show that gave a decoy corpse three episodes of screen time could not spare Sharon a goodbye.

So what happened to Sharon? She survived Barry, survived Kareem, survived a truck through her workplace — and got written off by pure attrition. In the Oval universe, that might genuinely be the happiest available ending.
