Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story was an instant hit, and in just the first few days of its release, the show dominated, accumulating nearly 149 million hours and landing at the top of Netflix 's charts for the week of May 1-7.
In total views, which Netflix calculates by dividing hours watched by total time, the show has 22 million views.
Queen Charlotte, featuring India Amarteifio as the main character, focuses on the queen's younger years and follows her rise to power.
The short history show has already received great reviews and has led to discussions about where the show's broader universe might go next.
With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, has something else in store for the fandom.
Aside from the story of Charlotte, Rhimes also added the story of Lady Danbury to the show.
So now the fans are aware of the hard life and all the things she did to get her status and make her way to the top. She will probably be even more respected after the spinoff.
Another person who has Rhimes so excited about the possibility of a new show in the future is the younger version of Mrs. Bridgerton. In the spinoff, we met a young Violet.
In the interview with IMDb, Rhimes said that she finds Violet fascinating, "and there's a story to be told."
So maybe in the near future we will get a new spinoff about her. But the fans were divided in two groups about that.
One part is saying that there was nothing dramatic in her story with Edmund and they were just happy and in love, so there is nothing to make a show of here. But they are still excited to get Violet her own spinoff. So they offered an idea.
"I'd imagine the spinoff would focus on Older Violet finding new love while giving us flashbacks to her time with Edmund. It would make for a good 4-5 episode story", Redditor JJJ954 said.
Well, it's up to Shonda Rhimes to decide, but we definitely need that spinoff soon!
