Before getting the role of Metamorpho in Superman, Anthony Carrigan terrified Gotham City as the psychotic serial killer. Here's what we know.

Superman has officially landed in theaters, with both critics and viewers praising the movie. Gunn secured a nice cast for the movie. We have David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and of course, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. If Carrigan's screen presence left you wanting more, then you should definitely check out Gotham.

‘Gotham’: A Batman Prequel You Might've Missed

Gotham ran from 2014 to 2019, serving as a prequel to Batman's story. The show follows a young Jim Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie) as he deals with life and work in Gotham.

Moro interestingly: the series covers the origins of iconic Batman villains, including Penguin, Riddler, Poison Ivy and many more.

Anthony Carrigan's Victor Zsasz Was Chilling and Memorable

Among the gallery of villains, Anthony Carrigan portrayed Victor Zsasz. Carrigan explained that this character found him when he was dealing with alopecia.

“When this role came along, I don’t think I really kind of understood just how angry I was at the people who had kind of told me that I wasn’t going to succeed or make it, and I think I was able to channel a lot of that anger into this character,” he said during “Hollywood at Home” podcast.

Zsasz is a serial killer. But Carrigan brought a weirdly likable quality to this psychopath. His Zsasz is simultaneously terrifying and oddly funny.

“And what’s funny is that he’s angry underneath, but he’s also funny as well. You know, I found the moments of lightness even though he’s incredibly messed up. And incredibly dark,” Carrigan continued.

What Do Viewers Think About 'Gotham'?

  • On Rotten Tomatoes, Gotham has 77% from critics and 68% from the audience.

  • On IMDb, Gotham is rated 7.8/10.

“I feel the Gotham Series is criminally underrated. The storylines, the reference to multiple arcs, a view from the perspective of Jim Gordon Harvey Bullock, and the villains, be it the Penguin, the Riddler, the Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, the Joker, and, of course, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle,” Redditor HerodotusofUK1998 wrote.

Gotham is a unique and wonderful insight into the famous city before the birth of DC's most beloved hero. The show mixes comic book content with their own twists. On top of that they have one of the most talented casts on TV,” alex_grant-41857 on IMDb said.
