Well friends, we're about to witness the hottest romance in London high society!

Summary

  • Bridgerton Season 3, which focuses on Colin and Penelope's romance, is just over a month away.
  • In the meantime, Netflix continues to share tantalizing details.
  • For example, one of the promo materials hints that we're in for one of the most steamy moments in the books.

It's been almost two years since the release of Bridgerton Season 2, and now the fans' agonizing anticipation is coming to an end. Yes, soon we won't have to live only on insider details, cast and crew hints, and information provided by Netflix itself. After all, the long-awaited Season 3 will debut in May 2024 (well, its first half, since the second half will follow in June).

And get your fans and more breathable ball gowns ready, ladies and gentlemen, because we're in for arguably the most steamy season in the history of both the series and all the books written by the incomparable master of romance, Julia Quinn, as this time the story will be based on the fourth book in the series, Romancing Mister Bridgerton.

And of course, as the season approaches, Netflix is teasing fans of the Julia Quinn and Shonda Rhimes-created franchise with more and more tantalizing details that suggest we're in for tons of heart-pounding scenes straight out of the book. In honor of Valentine's Day, Netflix has released new promos that include both episode titles and first looks at what's to come.

Plus, one of the details hints that we're in for THAT romantic scene between Colin and Penelope that's sure to get everyone's pulse racing. And no, we're not talking about the carriage or mirror scene (although if the show does feature those, we'll obviously have to drink heart drops).

If you don't want to ruin the experience with sudden spoilers, we suggest you wait for the release of Season 3, or read the novel.

The Pivotal Bondage Scene

Season 3 follows the courtship of Colin (Luke Newton), the third eldest son of the family, and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). In the previous season 2 finale, Penelope's storyline was at a low point. She had a falling out with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) after the latter discovered that Pen was the notorious writer, Lady Whistledown. Colin also deeply insulted Pen when she caught him joking about wooing her at a ball. Season 3 will be a real treat for Polin shippers as the characters finally find their place and acknowledge their feelings.

What follows are so many steamy moments that viewers unfamiliar with the source material should definitely be prepared. Consider their meeting in a carriage, or the hottest wedding night in franchise history... But even before that, there's plenty of dizzying romantic chemistry between them, including the scene where Colin first realizes his strong feelings for Penelope.

As such, one of the screenshots shows Pen bandaging Colin's arm. This is clearly an adaptation of a scene from the novel. At one point, Penelope decides to sneak a peek at Colin's journal entries when he returns from his trip. When he realizes this, Colin immediately tries to stop her, but in his impulse he accidentally cuts his hand. And it was while Pen was bandaging his hand that Colin realized how much he appreciated her sharp mind and equally sharp notes, as well as her beautiful blue eyes. Yes, that's when he realized he was experiencing something much more than friendly sympathy.

Season 3 will be divided into two parts to be released on May 16 and June 13. There will be a total of 8 episodes (four in each half). Notably, the first is titled Out of the Shadows and the last is titled Into the Light, which not only hints at the development of Colin and Pen, their relationship and status in society, but also Penelope's great journey as Lady Whistledown.
