Harry Potter's hidden rockstar cameos.

While the Harry Potter films famously employed nearly every working British actor, they also quietly featured some of the UK's biggest rock stars. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the wizard band The Weird Sisters included none other than Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker (on vocals/guitar) and bassist Steve Mackey, alongside Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood (guitar) and Phil Selway (drums).

The cameos came about when director Mike Newell wanted authentic musicians for the Yule Ball sequence. Cocker and Mackey co-wrote original songs "Do the Hippogriff" and "Magic Works" for the film, with the musicians performing in full wizarding regalia - complete with intentionally terrible "wizard rock" haircuts.

This rockstar infiltration of Hogwarts remains one of the franchise's best-kept secrets, proving the Wizarding World had indie cred long before Fantastic Beasts.
