Hank Thompson, played by Austin Butler, was once a high-school baseball star with a promising future. Now, he’s no longer able to play, but life still seems to be going well.

He has a wonderful girlfriend, portrayed by Zoë Kravitz, works as a bartender at a gritty New York dive bar, and his favourite team is making an unexpected run at the pennant. Everything appears to be on track until an ordinary favour turns his world upside down.

When Hank’s punk-rock neighbour Russ (Matt Smith) asks him to look after his cat for a few days, he unwittingly steps into a dangerous game. Suddenly, Hank finds himself caught in the middle of a motley crew of threatening gangsters who all want a piece of him — though he has no idea why.

As the threats escalate and the danger closes in, Hank must rely on his quick thinking and hustle to stay alive long enough to uncover what’s really going on.

Directed by the acclaimed Darren Aronofsky and based on Charlie Huston’s novel of the same name, Caught Stealing features an impressive cast including Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Benito Martínez Ocasio, and Carol Kane.
