The movie stars Hugh Jackman and also comes as a rare magician-ish finding in Nolan’s filmography.

While Christopher Nolan is booked and busy filming his new epic film based on Homer’s not-less epic poem Odyssey, the director’s movies keep finding their new streaming homes or leave them forever.

This week will mark Inception ’s departure from Netflix, though a couple of weeks later Nolan’s other hit film will become available for watching on Hulu. Released back in 2006, the psychological thriller stars Hugh Jackman opposite Christian Bale and is still considered one of the director’s finest early works.

The Prestige Will Arrive on Hulu in March

Just like Netflix and other streamers, Hulu has its own release schedule according to which Nolan’s The Prestige is set to find a new streaming home and will land on Hulu’s platform on March 14.

Co-written by Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonathan, the movie is primarily based on Christopher Priest’s 1995 sci-fi novel of the same name and follows two stage magicians in 1890s London whose rivalry makes them both go crazy while trying to outdo each other.

As they both seek a way to develop a perfect teleportation illusion, the magicians also become obsessed with an idea to not just outwit one another, but to destroy their rival.

The Prestige has a star-packed cast that comprises one of Nolan’s favorite actors Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Piper Perabo, Samantha Mahurin, Andy Serkis and, on top of that, David Bowie portraying Nikola Tesla.

The Prestige Is Nolan’s Unfairly Forgotten Hit

Coming off Nolan’s raving success with 2005’s Batman Begins, The Prestige had the director tackling quite a challenging theme like magic and its impact on a human being’s mind, which isn’t really something Nolan likes exploring in his features.

The movie, however, was another successful experiment that garnered almost $110 million in the box office and received universal praise from critics, including two nominations for the Academy Award.

Released almost 20 years ago, The Prestige remains one of the best films in Nolan’s early career; on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds 77% and 92% from critics and the audiences respectively.
