Colin Trevorrow Speaks Out: The 'Jurassic World' Director Has Something to Say About 'Rebirth'

He hints at secrets and thrills in Rebirth’s dino saga.
Colin Trevorrow isn’t just handing over the keys to the Jurassic kingdom — he’s waving the T. rex flag in full support. The director of Jurassic World (2015) and Dominion (2022) recently told The Hollywood Reporter he’s genuinely excited for Gareth Edwards’s upcoming Jurassic World: Rebirth.
"I was so deeply entrenched in what we were building." Trevorrow said, referring not just to the films but the Netflix shows, the merchandise, and the global theme park empire. "We built something that’s strong enough to move forward, and I’m very proud of that."
Far from feeling replaced, he sees Rebirth as a continuation of something timeless. "Every time a child is born, a new dinosaur fan is born" he quipped.
Trevorrow is particularly eager to see the raft sequence, lifted from Michael Crichton’s original 1990 novel — a long-awaited moment finally making it to screen thanks to returning screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park, 1993).
And the legacy? Alive and well. "That speech Jeff Goldblum gave over sea bass continues to resonate," he said. For Trevorrow, Jurassic Park is more than nostalgia — it’s enduring science fiction with real-world weight. And in 2025, it’s still roaring.
