The Wolverine actor planned to retire. Now, he plans to milk the MCU for his dreams.

  • Hugh Jackman, the longest-running Marvel actor, is set to reprise his role of Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3.
  • According to a report, Jackman is also in talks about returning in Avengers: Secret Wars, but he has some big asks.
  • Admittedly, the Wolverine star will only join the project if he gets to interact with Tobey Maguire and Robert Downey Jr.

Hugh Jackman is the longest-running Marvel actor, just like his Wolverine is the longest-running Marvel character. No recasts, no dramas, only solid performance year and year again; but in the end, Jackman still decided to hang his suit. It was Ryan Reynolds who pulled the Wolverine star back into the MCU by continuously bothering him until he heard the much-anticipated “Alright, just piss off!

But now that Hugh Jackman is back, he has some big demands to return for Avengers: Secret Wars, as well — at least, that’s what reports claim.

Jackman Demands His Dreams Come True

Recently, a famous industry insider MyTimeToShineHello shared a peculiar update on their X (formerly Twitter). According to them, Hugh Jackman is in talks with Marvel about his potential return in Secret Wars, but he has some hard conditions.

“Hugh Jackman told Marvel he will return for Secret Wars but only if he'll get to interact with Tobey [Maguire] and [Robert Downey Jr.],” the scooper revealed.

If their report is true, Marvel is in a tough spot. Tobey Maguire’s presence in Secret Wars should be manageable, if unplanned, but RDJ…

Kevin Feige claimed they’d never “magically undo” Iron Man’s death, even though later he opted for a more liberal “we’ll see.” Getting the Oppenheimer star back on board can prove tricky.

Marvel Fans Want Jackman Back Anyway

Regardless of how easy or hard complying with Hugh Jackman’s reported demands might prove to Marvel, fans are eager to see more of his Wolverine. In the comment section, people are cheering this news and claiming it’s been a long time coming.

“I mean, it only makes sense. The biggest stars of the Big 3 Marvel film franchises. The ones that gave each big vertical (Spider-Man, X-Men, and MCU) their start on the big screen,” X (formerly Twitter) user KnightroStark pointed out.

Now, it all comes down to two things: whether the report is correct and if it is, whether Kevin Feige will sacrifice so much to get Hugh Jackman back in the fold. The Wolverine star himself, if we were to guess, couldn’t be hard to talk into it: he admitted that he’d missed his superhero days very soon after “retiring.”
