My Bias, My Boss spent 11 episodes getting its fangirl and her CEO together, then put an ocean between them with one episode left. It still ends on a ring.

The ending is happy. tvN's My Bias, My Boss wrapped its 12-episode run on September 8, 2026, and the finale sends Nam Da-reum (Kim Hye-jun) to Paris for a work assignment right after she and CEO Kang Ha-gi (Kang Hoon) finally get together. She goes, she comes back, and Ha-gi proposes in a park. She says yes, per The Review Geek's finale recap.

The bias in the title doesn't get the girl. Da-reum spent 11 years as a fan of Lee Chan (Cha Woo-min), a former member of the idol group DNX, and took a job at the fashion startup Appello because Chan works there as a director. Chan gets a happy ending too, just not with her.

Why Da-reum goes to Paris

The opportunity comes through Han Jeong-yeon (Yeon Woo), Ha-gi's first love and the CEO of the fashion brand Han. She tells Da-reum to take on challenges and not be afraid to fail, and Han then requests Da-reum as an exchange employee for its collaboration with Appello. The catch is that the job is in Paris, and it lands right as their coworkers find out about the relationship.

Ha-gi handles it badly first and well second. He gets drunk with Min-woo (Hwang Sung-bin), who has to call Da-reum to come collect him, and asks her to stay. Then he does the opposite of what he just said: he helps her pack, meets her on the roof of the Appello building and tells her not to give up her dream for him. He'll wait.

A CEO telling his employee to take the overseas job, even though he's dating her, is the most grown-up decision anyone makes in this drama.

What happens while she's gone

The finale spends Da-reum's months abroad tying off everyone else:

  • Ha-gi: He visits her empty apartment and finds notes she left behind for him. The two keep up by phone.
  • Choi Sung-wook (Heo Joon-seok): The colleague who leaked Appello's business proposal to rival SE Trading now works at a car wash. He tells Ha-gi he had grown resentful of him and apologizes.
  • Roy (Chun Woo-jin): The DNX member who walked away years ago, after private photos of him and his partner leaked, lets Chan talk him into coming back. The members welcome him to practice.
  • The office: Da-reum learns over the phone that her coworkers Min-ah and Young-woo are dating.

She comes home as project manager on DNX's collaboration with Appello. The comeback venue and the outfits change at the last minute, and Da-reum redesigns the merch around the locket she wears. DNX takes the stage after nearly a decade away, and she cries through it.

The proposal comes after. On a walk in the park, Ha-gi makes Da-reum a bracelet out of flowers, she asks for a ring too, and he has a real one.

Was Paris worth it?

The reviews mostly forgive the detour without loving it. Wion's Snigdha Sweta Behera called it "a rushed Paris storyline," then conceded that "the finale gives the central characters satisfying closure." The Review Geek's Val M called the Paris arc filler and gave the finale 3.5 out of 5. The South China Morning Post's Pierce Conran, reviewing the premiere, had already filed the whole thing under "by-the-numbers workplace romcom."

At home, the drama did fine. It took over tvN's Monday-Tuesday 8:50 p.m. slot on August 3, and by episode 5 it was averaging 4.0% nationwide with a 4.7% peak, first in its time slot on cable, per Nielsen Korea via allkpop. Outside Korea it streams on HBO Max and Viki.

I'd defend the Paris arc, rushed as it is. A show about a woman who built her career around a man she'd never met could easily have ended with her shrinking her life around a man she had. Instead, the finale makes her leave, come back with a better title and run her idol's comeback.

Eleven years of fandom got Da-reum a job at her bias's company. The ring came from his boss.

My Bias, My Boss handed its slot to The Ordinary Jackpot on September 14. Chan got his band back and Ha-gi got his yes. Da-reum started the show as DNX's most devoted fan and ended it designing the band's merch.
