Elle Fanning's New Show Is a Perfect Dramedy With 96% on RT You Shouldn't Miss
It's the perfect choice for fans of stories about family turmoil, second chances, and unlikely alliances that ultimately save each other.
On April 15, David E. Kelley's series Margo's Got Money Troubles premiered. The new show has attracted attention because of its stellar cast: Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer star, and Nicole Kidman and Nick Offerman make cameo appearances.
Initially expected to be the next Euphoria, with its constant provocations, the creators are actually more concerned with the characters' experiences and dialogue.
What Is 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' About?

Margo is a gifted student whose talent is noticed by a young professor named Mark. However, it soon becomes clear that his compliments were merely a ploy to seduce his student. When Margo discovers she's pregnant, Mark immediately remembers his responsibilities to his wife.
Margo seeks support from her mother, Shyanne, who seems to respond but is preoccupied with her upcoming wedding to Kenny, the leader of the local church.
Suddenly, Margo's long-lost father appears on her doorstep. He is a famous wrestler nicknamed Jinx and a former drug addict. He offers to help his daughter, but he has no money. So, Margo starts an OnlyFans page and uses her literary talents to promote it.
'Margo's Got Money Troubles' Is a Heartwarming Drama About People Who Are Going Through Hard Times
Margo's Got Money Troubles tells about the search for support and encouragement, which applies first and foremost to Margo herself. Her world and dreams are shattered by an unplanned pregnancy. She can't bring herself to have an abortion, and her lover betrays her immediately.
One of the most touching moments in the series is the appearance of Jinx, Margo's father. He is a man who realizes how much he has missed in life and timidly dreams of making amends.
Fortunately, David E. Kelley avoids the usual black-and-white dichotomy – Jinx's ex-wife has every reason to dislike him and yearn for her own happiness.
'Margo's Got Money Troubles' Takes a Sober, but Cautious Look At Onlyfans

The themes of explicit content and profiting from sexuality have become firmly established in cinema. Margo gets the idea to create an account after learning that a former wrestler earns more in a month on the platform than she does in a year in the ring.
In real life, news regularly surfaces about someone starting an OnlyFans account and quickly paying off their debts.
Against this backdrop, Margo's Got Money Troubles could have demonstrated a surprisingly healthy approach to such activity. Initially, the main character uses her literary talent, not her beauty, for her page.
It turns out that texts and witty responses also attract clients. She quickly moves past banal explicit photos and videos, progressing to complex artistic videos with plots about aliens.
Unfortunately, this is where the series' logic breaks down. Are Margo's actions only justified if she adds creativity to explicit content? If the woman were filming real pornography, would that be bad and embarrassing?
The creators missed an opportunity to speak honestly about important topics. Still, Margo's Got Money Troubles remains warm, funny, and touching.
