Both co-stars and showrunners seem to agree with Ortega's idea for the general direction of Wednesday Season 2.

The star of Netflix 's hit coming-of-age show Wednesday, Jenna Ortega, said in an interview with Variety that the Season 1 love triangle was "a weird thing to justify." The actress revealed that instead of another relationship like the one between her character, Xavier Thorpe, and Tyler Galpin, she hoped Season 2 would "just focus on her and her experiences."

Ortega added that she had no idea about the storylines or production details of Season 2. While the show was officially renewed in January after the smashing success of its first season, production on Season 2 has yet to begin, and fans have only a smattering of information to go on.

But so far, the cast and showrunners seem to support Ortega's idea about the general direction of the upcoming season. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar revealed to TVLine that they would like to see more of the Addams family members in future episodes, but the focus will definitely be on Wednesday and her character development. She should stop seeing things in black and white and start differentiating between shades of gray.

The creators added that the show will revolve around Wednesday "learning to navigate the ups and downs of friendship," which some fans took as a hint at the developing relationship between the titular character and her werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers.

A part of the fandom even pushed for their relationship to go beyond friendship. But Myers does not seem to be interested in such a development, at least not for Season 2.

While the actress didn't completely rule out a romantic arc between her character and Wednesday, she told Variety that it would be better if the season focused on Wednesday and not her love interests.

"As far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness. She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she's got to lay it off for a little bit," she said.

Well, it looks like the co-stars have similar ideas about how Season 2 should go. They definitely don't want another love drama, no matter who it might affect.
