Even though all the Friends cast members have gone on to incredible success after the show, fans feel that these two did not get enough credit for their work on the show.

Summary:

  • Friends, a popular sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, has been praised by fans for a scene that is intense and emotionally raw.
  • In episode 16, season 3, Ross and Rachel break up after a heated argument. This scene is considered the toughest and most intense in the series.
  • Fans try to skip it on re-watches to avoid getting upset.

Friends is a famous sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman that was and still is beloved by many fans all over the world. Sitcoms often presume typical characters. For example, Joey is this hungry and dumb macho man, while Chandler is a sarcastic and lonely one.

There is a stereotype that these types of shows don’t require much from an actor. This is a wrong statement on so many layers, and one particular scene from Friends proves it.

In episode 16, season 3, Ross and Rachel break up after a heated argument. And that exact argument is the one scene that gets praised by fans. It really shows how much the two characters are in love with one another.

When you see Rachel really heartbroken and Ross sobbing and begging her not to go, it always comes across as such fantastic acting. It makes you almost forget for a while that this is a sitcom.

David Schwimmer 's acting hits extra hard, because he really sells the fact that this is his high school sweetheart who is breaking things off with him. The woman he has been planning to marry for literally weeks after they started dating.

“That scene is physically and emotionally painful to watch. There’s so much raw emotion there that you’re able to viscerally feel it yourself. It’s easily the hardest and most incredibly intense scene to watch in the entire series,” says Redditor leighhtonn.

And it's hard to argue with that. Both David and Jennifer have admitted that they continued to cry even after the scene was filmed. No wonder, fans even skip it on rewatch to avoid getting upset.
