Creator Steven Knight teamed up with Netflix to give fans a massive theatrical farewell to 1940s Birmingham.

In spring 2026, one of the most iconic TV sagas of modern times will return to conclude the story of Thomas Shelby and his family.

The feature-length movie Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will conclude the era begun by the series. Here is everything we know about the year's most highly anticipated sequel.

When Will 'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man' Be Released?

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is scheduled for theatrical release on March 6, 2026. It will be available to watch on Netflix two weeks later, on March 20.

The action shifts to 1940, at the height of World War II. Thomas Shelby returns from self-imposed exile to find Birmingham engulfed in chaos.

A devastating ordeal awaits him, one that threatens not only the future of the Shelby family, but also that of the entire country, which is torn apart by war and internal conflict.

In an interview Steven Knight said:

“I think the film is gonna be a step up again, and it's gonna be great that Peaky fans can meet in one place and watch it. The budget will be bigger, but also because we know we're ending this chapter, we're all going to try to do our best.”

Although plot details are being kept secret, one thing is clear: the movie will be an epic, dark, and tense finale to the Peaky Blinders' journey.

Which Cast Members Are Returning, Which Ones Are Not & Who Are the New Faces?

The core cast remains faithful to the original. Cillian Murphy, the heart and soul of the series, returns as Thomas Shelby. He will be joined by Sophie Rundle and Stephen Graham.

However, not everyone could be brought together for the movie. Despite the actors' willingness to participate, Sam Claflin and Kate Phillips' characters weren't included in the script.

Nevertheless, the cast will include several new A-list faces. Newcomers include Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo. Legendary gangster Al Capone will also appear, though the actor has yet to be announced.

What Will Happen to the 'Peaky Blinders' Franchise After the Release of 'The Immortal Man'?

Although The Immortal Man is positioned as the final chapter in Thomas Shelby's story, it is not the end of the franchise. In October 2025, the BBC confirmed plans for at least two new seasons of the series, with six episodes each.

The new seasons will be set 17 years after the events of the movie in post-war Birmingham and will focus on a new generation of the Shelby family attempting to rebuild their legacy.

Cillian Murphy will serve as executive producer for these seasons, but it is unclear whether he will appear on screen.
