The most believable casting ever.

Just like in any other industry, actors are happy to support their children entering the industry. Although there have been several scandals related to nepotism in Hollywood, one cannot minimize the privileges these kids have while entering the career pool, sometimes they end up adding value to great productions.

What's even nicer to see as a viewer is the collaboration between parents and their children on screen. It's not often that directors choose to cast real-life family members in a project, but when they do, it certainly adds a layer of emotion to the movie or show.

That was the decision made by the showrunners of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the Godzilla spinoff, made when casting Russell's father-son duo to play Army officer Lee Shaw. Viewers will reportedly follow the events in Lee Shaw's life over 50 years, so it would require two actors to portray him.

And who could be more believable as one person than a father and son?

For both father and son, this project won't be the first to deal with the supernatural. Kurt Russell played Ego, the living planet in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, and has voiced the same role again for Disney Plus. Wyatt Russell has also been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portraying John Walker.

Although there is no release date for the show as of today, there are already some details about the first season of the show available to the public. Produced by Apple TV Plus, season 1 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is expected to have ten episodes.

In addition to Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, the Godzilla spin-off will also star Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe and Mari Yamamoto. The show is being developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction, known for their work on Severance and Hawkeye, and directed by WandaVision talent Matt Shakman.
