Black Mirror: Bandersnatch was recently removed from Netflix, meaning it is no longer available anywhere due to the interactive system – fans are demanding the project be saved.

On May 12, two interactive movies were removed from Netflix – Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs the Reverend.

Netflix representatives said that the interactive movies served their purpose, but now the video service is focusing on other areas.

The main problem with the removal of these two projects from the platform is the fact that while regular movies and series can be found on other services and piracy websites (don't use these), Bandersnatch and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are true exclusives.

Due to the fact that they are interactive projects with a choice of how the events unfold, they were only available on Netflix and are now nowhere to be found.

For many, this is especially true of Bandersnatch, where looking for all the available finales became something of a challenge and hobby – even seven years after the episode's release, many viewers returned to it to try to find new endings.

Bandersnatch Fans Started a Petition to Save the Project

That's why the news of Bandersnatch's removal from the platform caused a huge wave of outrage among viewers, who started a petition to prevent the project from just vanishing. As Reddit user International-Ad9104 wrote:

“This was never just about saving a show or how people felt about it. It’s about the future (and history) of interactive media. We’re fighting to make sure Bandersnatch isn’t just deleted from the platform… but honored in digital media history.”

So if you are one of the many fans of Bandersnatch, you can sign the petition.

How Did Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Work?

At certain points during the viewing, a board appeared with two options for what the main character – 19-year-old Stefan from London in 1984, who is obsessed with creating an interactive game based on the book Bandersnatch – should do.

The viewer had a few seconds to choose one of the options. Depending on the decision, the story unfolds according to a certain pattern. Throughout the movie, you can go through several ending options.

In total, Bandersnatch used about five hours of video material, but the system skipped parts of the story and sometimes modified them if you already completed one of the arcs.
