There’s no explanation for such a weird nostalgia moment yet.

Should I repeat once again that Netflix and its viewers are just one wild card?

It’s been pretty obvious for years that the streaming giant has been giving people across the world full access to its infinite collection of movies and shows of all kinds, but this time the audience’s desire to refresh their memories about some old flops just went too far.

A controversial 2013 adventure movie Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters has suddenly popped up in Netflix’s global top chart, now sitting at the fourth place.

Coming as a part of Percy Jackson movie series and based on Rick Riordan’s 2006 novel of the same name, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters stars Logan Herman as the eponymous character, Greek god Poseidon’s half-human son who continues his adventures alongside his friends while trying to save the world from villainous mythical creatures.

Feeling a bit down after his recent heroic deeds, Percy has no time pondering over his mission as a demigod since the protection of Camp Half-Blood is jeopardized by those mythical beasts’ invasion.

Now that they need to hurry to save their home, Percy and co are set to cross the Sea of Monsters, or the Bermuda Triangle, to retrieve the magical Golden Fleece there.

Upon its release back in 2013, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters ended up being a box office hit, yet still turned out to be a huge disappointment for the franchise’s fans. The movie grossed $200 million against the budget of $90 million, but never made it to success among critics and viewers, landing average scores of 42% and 54% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

Having high hopes for the adaptation since they were nothing but delighted with the original book, many fans labeled Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters a painfully mediocre attempt to bring the famous story to the screens.

The film is believed to have continued the movie franchise’s disheartening trend of turning the novel’s excellent storyline into something pretty much different to see in cinemas.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is available for streaming on Netflix worldwide.
