Both sides could use a really good lawyer.

What Marvel fans know as "civil war" was an Avengers-only conflict, but the MCU movie did bring new parties to it: for example, Steve Rogers recruited Ant-Man to be on his side, while Tony Stark was quick to find young talent and turn him into Spider-Man.

This is why fans wondered which side would Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil be on if he was involved in the "civil war" skirmish.

Here's where people got divided. The majority of fans argued that Daredevil would definitely join Team Cap, as the comic books have never established Murdock and Tony Stark to be in warm relationships. Besides, they noted, it's quite hard to imagine that Daredevil would be protecting the idea of the government controlling superheroes.

"Captain America. Easy. The man takes on ONLY the innocent in his cases. He would clearly listen to Bucky's heart and know that he's a victim." – @DTTH1RT3EN

But there were people who claimed quite the opposite: given that Murdock is a lawyer, he might have wanted to protect the system and stand up for accountability.

"Team Iron Man, he's be all for the accords being a lawyer and everything. Collateral would be his main concern." – @Amiestrogen

One fan suggested that it depends on the timing.

"At the time he was coming off season 2, he probably would have been team ironman cause he still thought people needed to believe in the system, any other time, especially after season 3, he's team Cap." – @angel_zeroes

Some people argued that Daredevil would never even care to participate in the conflict.

"My dude would NOT have cared. The thing about Civil War in the MCU is that it's such an Avengers-specific issue. Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Punisher etc would have ZERO stake in ANY of it." – @NicholasMoore16

Still, it's already quite impossible for us to know the answer for sure, as both parties in the conflict have departed from the MCU. Daredevil, however, remains there and will return in Disney 's original series 'Daredevil: Born Again' in spring 2024, portrayed by Charlie Cox.

He is also likely to make an appearance in the upcoming show 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' which hits Disney Plus on August 17.
