Trailer unveiled.

Paramount and Miramax have unveiled the first trailer for Channing Tatum’s latest film, Roofman. This compelling drama is inspired by a true story, centring on a former Army Ranger and a father struggling to make ends meet amid financial hardship. In a desperate bid to provide for his family, he devises a daring plan: robbing McDonald’s outlets by cutting holes in their roofs, which earns him the nickname Roofman.

The story takes an unexpected turn when, after escaping from prison and hiding out in a toy store, he begins a new chapter of his life. Falling in love with a single mother — played by Kirsten Dunst—and her two daughters, he hopes to leave his criminal past behind. However, his previous life and the final robbery threaten to derail his chances at redemption, adding tension and emotional depth to the narrative.

The cast boasts an impressive line-up including Peter Dinklage, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield. The film is directed by Derek Cianfrance, with producers Lynette Howell Taylor, Jamie Patricof, Duncan Montgomery and Dylan Sellers. The screenplay is penned by Cianfrance and Kirt Gunn. Executive producers include Tatum himself, Cianfrance, Jonathan Montepare, and Chris Parker of Limelight. Additional executive producers are Charles M. Barsamian, Tyler Zacharia, Matthew von Waaden, D. Mark von Waaden; alongside High Frequency’s Sam Romano, Rick Covert and Jack Selby.

Miramax has acquired distribution rights for certain territories — including the United States — and will distribute the film through Paramount Pictures under their first-look deal with both companies. Following this project, Tatum will appear in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, reprising his role as Gambit from the X-Men universe.

Roofman is scheduled for release in theatres on 10th October.
