First Look: Sylvester Stallone and Samuel L. Jackson Reunite in Tulsa King Spinoff 'NOLA King'

Paramount+ has announced a new series order for NOLA King, a spinoff from Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama Tulsa King, starring Samuel L. Jackson.
Jackson will appear in multiple episodes of Tulsa King’s upcoming third season before taking the lead and serving as an executive producer on the new series. The project is produced by 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios, with production expected to start in February 2024.
Jackson would join Tulsa King’s third season, and now more details have emerged about the offshoot. Paramount+ released a first-look image showing Jackson alongside Sylvester Stallone in Episode 309 of Tulsa King, hinting at the connection between the shows.
NOLA King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson), who, after serving ten years in federal prison, is sent from New York’s Renzetti crime family to eliminate Dwight Manfredi (Stallone). Washington returns to New Orleans — his hometown he left four decades ago — to reconnect with his family and friends and take control of the city. His return sparks conflict with his former employers and makes him vulnerable to old enemies — both criminal and law enforcement.
Jackson’s involvement marks his first TV series lead; he is best known for his role as Nick Fury in Marvel’s MCU films and TV shows. His recent work includes starring in Peacock’s Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. An Oscar nominee for Pulp Fiction and recipient of an Honorary Oscar in 2021, Jackson remains an iconic figure across film and television.
