George Martin’s Next Adaptation Gets His 100% Approval Ahead of Premiere

The movie stars Milla Jovovich and will hit theatres in less than a couple of weeks.
George Martin has a long history of fighting with Game of Thrones ’ creators over massive plot changes, but the author’s other collaborators were quick to take notes.
With not just A Song of Ice and Fire, but a whole collection of all sorts of novels and short stories, Martin might be getting closer to the status of one of the most adapted writers of modern times alongside Stephen King.
While things are getting ready for House of the Dragon ’s season 3 release sometime in 2026 and Game of Thrones’ new spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is just around the corner, there’s another exciting project based on Martin’s novel coming in, and it’s already received the author’s highest praise.
In the Lost Lands Has George Martin’s Raving Reaction Ahead of World Premiere
Based on Martin’s short story of the same name, In the Lost Lands is coming to theatres worldwide in March, and the movie’s director Paul W. S. Anderson has just given an exciting update for critics to consider.
In an interview with SFX Magazine, Anderson revealed that he was way too nervous to show Martin the film ahead of its premiere since the author had been long struggling with filmmakers and TV producers who misrepresented his ideas in other big-scale projects.
However, everything went better than the director expected as, according to him, Martin praised his work on the movie and highlighted In the Lost Lands’ exceptionality.
“I have to say, having been in this industry for a little while and made a bunch of movies, it's the most nervous I've ever been having a screening. I'm sitting there going, 'Sh*t. This is George R.R. Martin.' But at the end, he loved it. He said he felt that I had captured his voice better than anyone had in an adaptation, which made me feel amazing”, Anderson stated.
He also added that the upcoming adaptation might even inspire Martin to write a sequel story which would later allow the director to turn the film into a franchise.
