The I.M.P. crew returns October 14 with three episodes. The season's remaining eight have no date beyond "next year."

Helluva Boss season 3 arrives on Prime Video today, October 14, in a very particular shape. Part 1 is seven episodes: three today, then two per week through October 28. The full season is 15 episodes, which means the remaining eight — Part 2 — are dated simply "2027," with nothing more specific attached.

Vivienne Medrano's demon-assassin comedy follows Blitzo and the I.M.P. crew taking kill jobs across Earth and Hell while their personal lives — above all the Blitzo-and-Stolas relationship — get messier. Amazon's tagline for the season is doing a lot of honest work:

"Love is Hell. Growth is Worse."

The season premiered at New York Comic Con on October 8, the trailer launched a single ("[I Don't Want Ta Be] Nobody's Baybay"), and the Part 1 soundtrack is already on pre-order. For a show that started as a free YouTube cartoon, the machine around it is now fully studio-sized.

How the YouTube show became an Amazon asset

The corporate journey is the real story of this release. Helluva Boss launched as Medrano's independently produced YouTube series in 2019 and built its audience there for five years, episode by free episode.

Then Amazon, already home to Medrano's Hazbin Hotel, moved in. In September 2025, Prime Video released uncensored versions of the first two seasons plus "Mission Zero," a remade pilot — and that remake hit YouTube only 45 days after Prime. Season 3 goes further: Prime Video first, in over 240 countries, with the YouTube era effectively reduced to a trailing window.

Seasons 1 and 2 premiered free on YouTube. Season 3 premieres on Prime Video in 240 countries, with season 4 already ordered.

The split-season math

Amazon greenlit season 4 back in summer, before a single season 3 episode had aired — the same buy-before-the-ratings confidence Netflix just showed The Hunting Wives. The split itself also has precedent working in its favor: Part 1 ends October 28, three days before Halloween, which is exactly where a show about demons wants its finale.

The open question is the gap. "2027" can mean January or next October, and the show's own history leans long — season 2 stretched across more than two years of releases. Seven episodes now, eight at an unannounced later date: fans are getting less than half a season today, and the only guaranteed date on the calendar is that there will be a season after it.
