Krypto Is So Cute that Now Many People Dream of Having Such a Dog: What Breed is Superman's Dog?

Deadpool isn't the only one walking around with a dog: Superman's furry companion has outshone all other superheroes.
Before viewers had time to recover from the cute shock of the dog Bullet in Deadpool and Wolverine, a new furry pet appeared on the horizon. Another superhero now has a companion, and he is no less charming.
In James Gunn's Superman, viewers met Krypto, a white stubborn guy who captivates viewers with his selfless devotion and slightly hooligan nature from the very first frame.
Superdog Krypto is not just a funny companion for Superman. This is the effect of Google scale: immediately after the premiere in the US, the number of requests for "adopt a dog from a shelter near me" jumped by 513%, and "adopt a schnauzer" - by 299%. Yes, it's all because of him - white, stubborn, fearless and cute.
On screen, Krypto is naughty, distracted, meddling in things that aren't his business, and causing a local apocalypse in Clark Kent's house. But as soon as a threat appears, he goes into battle next to his master. Behind his outward clumsiness, there is courage and devotion that are impossible not to love.
The character was created with love and personal pain: the prototype was the director's rescued dog, Ozu - aggressive, half-wild, who once did not even allow to be touched. It was his habits that formed the basis for the image of Krypto, and then the 3D model.
When asked why the superdog is not a Labrador, as in the comics, Gunn answered simply:
"He is an alien. He does not have to be any specific breed."
However, experts agree on one thing - outwardly, Crypto in the film resembles a cross between a schnauzer and a terrier. And suddenly these breeds also became popular: social networks were filled with jokes and memes, shelters - with profiles from potential owners.
But there is also a serious reminder: Woofz, an app for training, urges not to succumb to the moment.
"The excitement will pass, but the dog will remain. Make sure you are ready."
And Krypto has stayed. On posters, in hearts and, perhaps, in real homes of new happy families.
