Judging by hints in trailers and teasers, Sabine Wren may now be Force-sensitive, unlike in the animated series.

With the Ahsoka TV series premiering next week, more and more teasers and trailers showing various scenes from the upcoming show are being released every day.

And while most of them don't show anything particularly new compared to the first trailer, eagle-eyed fans noticed something that might hint at a possible retcon of the Star Wars Rebels animated series, on which the upcoming show heavily relies.

In a few brief shots, we see Sabine Wren, portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, wielding a lightsaber and even engaging in a duel with Ivanna Sakhno's mysterious Shin Hati.

Moreover, since Ahsoka mentions masters and apprentices, it is obvious that Sabine has apparently become Ahsoka's apprentice, trained in fighting Force users and perhaps even more.

This begs the question of whether these references imply that Sabine is now Force-sensitive as well, which could be a retcon of the events of Rebels.

In the animated series, she showed no signs of being Force-sensitive, and with three Jedi around, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Kanan, one of them would have noticed.

Also, in a scene where Sabine was training to use the Darksaber, it was clear that she was struggling in a duel with a Force user until she was given special Mandalorian equipment.

This, as well as the fact that lightsabers are rarely wielded by non-Force users due to their extreme danger, makes it possible that Sabine is now Force-sensitive as well.

However, it could also mean that she has simply improved her dueling skills, which she acquired during her training with the Dark Saber.

With what looks like Ezra's lightsaber in her hands (or her own with a similar green crystal), combat training from two Jedi, and a set of Mandalorian equipment, Sabine is still a worthy opponent to anyone, even if she lacks any Force abilities.

The first two of eight episodes of Ahsoka will premiere on August 23, 2023.

Do you think Sabine is Force-sensitive now, or is it too far-fetched?
