Love Death + Robots Vol 4 Trailer Lacks One Crucial Thing (It May Be an End of an Era)
It’s too soon to panic, but the three favorite heroes of the previous seasons are nowhere to be seen in the new trailer.
Love, Death & Robots season 4 has received a fresh new trailer highlighting the 10 new episodes to come in the new chapter. The long-awaited release date has also been revealed — Volume 4 (eloquently dubbed Vol. F***) will hit Netflix on May 15. Oh and yes, we are receiving a new season of Black Mirror and Love, Death & Robots in the same year.
However, even though the trailer has already been praised by fans for its spectacular editing and intriguing new characters and stories teased in the first look, one thing is no longer there — and for many, it may ruin the entire new season.
Yes, there are no Three Robots in the Volume 4 — at least not in its first trailer.
While it can’t be taken as an official confirmation that the beloved storyline wouldn’t receive any continuation, it sure is a bummer for many fans.
“Shame that there's no Three Robots. Would be nice to see more of their world,” Redditor vyruz32 said.
In Love, Death & Robots, storylines rarely repeat, but the case with Three Robots is among the stories that ties every single chapter together.
“I’m hoping [to see them return], they seem like the unofficial mascot/meta story connecting all the seasons so far,” suggested Redditor MacheteMolotov.
Other fans fairly point out that the Three Robots storyline may no longer be creatively lucrative: after all, after the cats have developed thumbs and conquered the desolate Earth, what else is left? But then again: it doesn’t have to be the end of an era, even though there is such a possibility.

Let’s be fair, though: it isn’t the first time the fan favorite trio isn’t a part of a Love, Death & Robots season. In season 2, they didn’t return; but season 3 was a true delight for every Three Robots fan who missed them.
Season 4 marks the long-awaited return for the anthology series after three years of radio silence. There is no information on whether this chapter will be the final one; so, even if the Three Robots do not return in season 4, it still wouldn’t mean their story is over.
In fact, many fans believe they already deserve their own project.
“They weren't in season 2, but they did come back for season 3, so hopefully when 5 rolls around they'll be back. And they were also my favorite out of the bunch, I keep screaming into the void that we need a full series with just them!” said Redditor Alucard_Maverick.
