Warner Bros. has unleashed the first official trailer for Mortal Kombat 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 2021's video game adaptation. Slashing into cinemas on 24th October, the film expands the roster with fan-favourite fighters joining returning kombatants.

Karl Urban (The Boys) headlines new additions as Johnny Cage, the egotistical Hollywood star-turned-warrior. He's joined by Adeline Rudolph as Edenian princess Kitana, Tati Gabrielle as her loyal protector Jade, and Martyn Ford as the hulking tyrant Shao Kahn. The trailer teases brutal fatalities.

Director Simon McQuoid returns, promising even more bone-crunching action and iconic franchise moments. The footage showcases improved fight choreography and visual effects, staying true to the games' visceral combat while expanding the inter-realm war storyline. With its mix of legacy characters and fresh blood, Mortal Kombat 2 looks set to deliver the ultraviolent spectacle fans crave.
