Nobody Wants This season 3 release date and trailer: Netflix drops all 10 episodes in one night
The rabbi got the girl — now Netflix's most reliable rom-com has to figure out what a show does after the kiss, and the trailer suggests the answer involves homework.
Nobody Wants This returns October 22, and Netflix is releasing all 10 episodes in one night — no weekly rollout, no split season, just a full binge dropped on a Thursday. It's the show's third consecutive late-October landing (season 2 arrived October 23 last year), which at this point makes Joanne and Noah as much a fixture of the season as the pumpkin displays.
The trailer, released September 24 under the tagline "It's Perfect Because It's Us," confirms the show is done pretending its central couple might not end up together. Season 2 closed with Joanne (Kristen Bell) choosing to convert to Judaism and Noah (Adam Brody) choosing her right back — so season 3 is about what comes after the grand gesture: moving in together, merging lives, and Joanne actually doing the conversion, coursework included. Co-showrunner Bruce Eric Kaplan isn't mourning the retired will-they-won't-they:
"We didn't have to do any more 'Will they, won't they?' We know they are going to."
Conversion class is now an ensemble sport
The smartest structural move of the season: Joanne's Intro to Judaism class gives the show a whole new room of characters —
- Sarah Silverman as Rabbi Eden, running the class — inspired casting on every level
- Andrew Rannells as Sebastien, a fellow student shaping up as Joanne's academic rival
- Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Curb Your Enthusiasm's greatest weapon) as classmate Amber
- Guest stars including Avan Jogia, Poorna Jagannathan, Steven Weber, Sadie Sandler, and Tovah Feldshuh
- Erin Foster herself — the creator whose real interfaith romance started this whole franchise — makes her acting debut on the show as Nicole
Elsewhere, the supporting cast gets the churn: Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn) separate and stumble back into dating, Morgan (Justine Lupe) blows up her engagement and her career in the same season, and the show keeps circling something between Sasha and Morgan that neither of them has been able to admit to — a pairing the fandom has been prosecuting since season 1.
Kaplan and Jenni Konner remain co-showrunners, their second season in the job after taking over from Foster's day-to-day. All 10 episodes, October 22, one sitting. Plan your evening accordingly.
