We are all rooting for this reunion to happen.

There are some movies that are better left in the late 90's and early 00's where they belong. With actors changing too much and audiences not caring that much about the original story, the reboots feel like they will never work.

That doesn't mean that no franchise should ever be revisited.

The news that another Princess Diaries movie was in the works rocked the world of many 30-somethings who still dream of one day receiving a visit from Julie Andrews and being given an entire European country to rule. As it turns out, the original cast is just as excited about another sequel as the audience.

You may not even remember that the Grey's Anatomy and Killing Eve star Sandra Oh, who has made a name for herself on television, actually had a role in The Princess Diaries, portraying Mia Thermopolis' school principal, Geraldine Gupta.

Although the actress had a very small role, it was the one to remember. Not only was it a chance to share the screen with the queen, Julie Andrews herself, in a brilliant comedic bit, but also to leave her mark on the history of The Princess Diaries.

As Oh admits in an interview with EW, she still gets credit for the role. Even by younger fans!

"I remember it was like 2015, I was walking down the street in Chicago, and there [was] a young person, who at that point in 2015, was not my usual demographic, which was like a college-aged, straight white guy. He passed me and then he ran back up to me and did the line: 'Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh. The Queen is coming.'"

The good news is that the actress is by no means tired of Principle Gupta. If anything, Sandra Oh says she's excited to get a callback and see what life has in store for her character after all these years.

As it would be for any of us, the Queen's visit must have been a truly life-changing experience for Gupta.

Although the development of another The Princess Diaries was confirmed back in November 2022, there is no news on its production or release date. Keep an eye out for all the behind-the-scenes news to stay updated!
