Tarantino’s magnum opus is something no one else could have done, but there’s a different movie that the director considers his true masterpiece.

Quentin Tarantino’s list of directorial works might not be as long as many wished it would be, but the director’s legacy is set to last much further than those who drop new releases one after another.

Having debuted with Reservoir Dogs back in 1992, Tarantino went on to create some of the best movies of all time, which is also what he acknowledges himself.

Now that there’s only one movie left for the director before he retires, Tarantino has reflected on what impact his movies had on the industry, also revealing which ones he thinks no one could have done better (or done in general) than him.

Quentin Tarantino Says “Nobody Else Could’ve Made” ‘Kill Bill’

Released back in 2003, the iconic action thriller starring Uma Thurman has become a cult classics due to many reasons, with both critics and audiences praising the movie for its plot, compelling characters and remarkable acting.

It’s fair to say no one did in fact get close to doing a thing similar to Kill Bill, which might be the reason why Tarantino himself considers the movie something truly unique that belongs to him.

“I think ‘Kill Bill’ is the ultimate Quentin movie, like nobody else could’ve made it. Every aspect about it is so particularly ripped, like with tentacles and bloody tissue, from my imagination and my id and my loves and my passion and my obsession. So I think ‘Kill Bill’ is the movie I was born to make”, the director revealed during his appearance on The Church of Tarantino podcast recently.

However, this doesn’t mean that Kill Bill also remains Tarantino’s personal favourite.

“I think ‘Inglourious Basterds’ is my masterpiece, but ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is my favorite”, he added, saying that the former is “my best script”.

Quentin Tarantino Needs “Uncharted Territory” For His Tenth Movie

Now that the director is looking for something else after scrapping The Movie Critic last year, it seems like Tarantino’s fans shouldn’t expect anything familiar from his final movie, talking about the director’s own cinematic universe of all kinds of stories and characters.

“This last movie, I’ve got to not know what I’m doing again. I’ve got to be in uncharted territory”, Tarantino said, referring to his decision to leave the script for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’s sequel to David Fincher.

As for The Movie Critic, the director revealed that “there was nothing to figure out” for him after working on Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood which had a similar 1950s Hollywood-ish skillset.
