The best way to transition to the holiday mood.

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have already caused quite a stir on the Internet with the sordid dating allegations that have surrounded them since their very first public appearance.

As insufferable as social media can be, many are suggesting that this is the beginning of the Renaissance era of classic Hollywood romances: slightly naive in the scripts, but extremely juicy behind the scenes.

It's hard to deny that audiences were very involved in the lives of celebrities back then.

One could argue that with modern technology and media presence, the issue is even greater today, but the majority feel that their favorite actors are becoming too private to connect with them on any level.

Aside from the nature of such a claim to information about someone's personal life, audiences crave drama. The good news is that Hollywood marketers are already on it.

Anyone But You, directed by Will Gluck and starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell as the two main characters, has been announced for a December 15 premiere.

Although the movie has nothing to do with the winter holidays, it seems that the date will help audiences get into the holiday spirit and get a better reception.

What could be better than a little relationship scandal to bring back the real Hollywood of the 2000s? Only the famous enemies-to-lovers trope, which lies in the basis of the said movie.

Whether it's for the quality production, the good acting, the tabloid coverage, the pure nostalgia of the audience, or the perfect balance of all of the above, it doesn't matter, as long as the movie is as successful as everyone expects it to be.

Whether or not this Renaissance of romantic comedies will bring back the flood of lighthearted movies to spend the night with, or some questionable celebrity drama as well, we'll have to wait and see.

Either way, it seems that audiences, drained by the struggles of the post-COVID entertainment industry, are ready to embrace this trend and welcome it with open arms.
