Saxon Haters, The White Lotus S3 Finale Betrayed You: Everyone Loves Him Now

That was one hell of a season, followed by the most chaotic finale ever created. And the things that happened to the main characters made us reevaluate our whole lives.
Well, even though there are no words to describe the spectrum of emotions that The White Lotus season 3 finale brought out, we still have to talk about it, right? While the season started off quietly with nothing much happening, it soon became clear that it wasn't going to be a slow ride and that there was more to come.
Spoiler alert for The White Lotus season 3 episode 8!
And that's exactly what happened. As the series progressed, decisions were made and things were said and even done.
Each character, as promised, came to the island as one person and left as a completely different individual. And that's exactly the case with one of the most hated characters at the beginning of the chapter, who by the end made us feel like he was actually a decent person who needed some guidance.
Of course we are talking about the older Ratliff brother, Saxon. The character was played by Patrick Schwarzenegger, the son of a Hollywood legend, and frankly there were people who weren't ready to embrace this casting decision because, well, he's a nepo baby. But the actor proved them all wrong, showing off his talents while being both a total jerk and a guy we really want to hug.
Episode 7 already made us look at him differently as we realize he is capable of critical thinking and actually has depth as a person. But the final episode made it clear that he will grow tremendously, and the process of his change has already begun. The moment that proves it all is the one on the beach when he was talking to Chelsea, ready to confide in her and let her be his guide.
While the two of them were talking, Chelsea saw Rick back on the beach and ran towards him, leaving Saxon all alone in there. The look on his face said everything about the pain he felt at that moment. Pain he didn't even know he could ever feel.
“I think he felt a genuine connection to her - and he seems like a guy who doesn’t feel genuinely connected very often, maybe ever. To me, the look was disappointment, but also some realisation that his life doesn’t have the meaning in it he wants. There was envy and yearning in it,” Redditor Throwaway-rayray said.
Of course it's the writing of the show that made it all possible, but the way Patrick Schwarzenegger brought his character to life is everything.
The White Lotus is available to stream on Max.
