Severance S2 Creepy Uprising Video Hides Surprising Clues You Missed (And Dylan Is a Part of It)
Like everything in the show, this video is full of hints.
So far, only the first episode of the second season of Severance has been released, but there are already so many fan theories that you could drown in them. This is because Season 2 inherits the best techniques of the first – including filling the plot with details that are often very difficult to notice.
As fans remember, Mark, not wanting to reconcile with the new team, begins to sabotage his work and goes to another riot, demanding that the Lumon board return his colleagues.
It works, Irving, Dylan and Helly return. Then, Milchik makes them watch a video that he says will be shown to all new employees from now on. Many viewers thought it was just a weird animated video in the spirit of the show itself, but it was actually much more than that.
The Uprising Video Is Full of References to Dylan and His Belt
Reddit user tdciago noted that the images in the video are not random – they are all connected to the episode when Milchik came to Dylan at the end of the first season, and to the very belt that Mark's colleague mentions so often in the second season.
In Season 1, Dylan used his belt to tie Burt's hands – in the video we see a strange game where you have to fish pineapples out of a pool with your hands tied.
If you thought the new snacks introduced as a result of Lumon's reform looked and sounded strange, that's because they are. They refer to the same scene where Milchik cuts the belt:
“The new snacks include fruit LEATHER and CUT beans, connecting them to Dylan's anger over the belt-cutting. He is mocked in the claymation video while the new snacks are described.”
In addition, fans claim that the Outie Family Visitation Suite that Milchick showed Dylan is nothing more than a remodeled security office where the belt incident occurred.
Dylan Is Being Suspiciously Quiet About What Happened to Him
Such a focus on Dylan specifically makes you wonder what happened to him after Milchik broke into the office where Dylan held the levers that started the process of going from innie to outie.
So far, Dylan has been portrayed as the most careless character, so he gets less attention. However, he was the only one who did not share his story of what happened during the uprising.
We know what happened before Milchik entered the room, but what happened to Dylan afterward remains a mystery.
