Sophie Turner Used a Weird Way to Read Game of Thrones Books, and Fans Kinda Relate

George Martin’s book series isn’t for everyone, so we get it, Sophie.
Having served as the primary source material for one of the most successful shows on modern TV, George Martin ’s A Song of Ice and Fire remains unfinished with two more books the author has been struggling with for the past 15 years.
However, even with a couple of planned instalments missing, the series is a solid read with a volume that sometimes could’ve scared the show’s most devoted fans away.
Many preferred being ahead of the TV version though, but some of Game of Thrones’ actors were reassured they had to stay away from the original books in order to not get confused and remain faithful to the script.
Still, Sansa Stark’s actress Sophie Turner was the one to break the rule, and her way of handling it is very unlikely to find some judgement from Game of Thrones’ fans.
Sophie Turner Read A Song of Ice and Fire Books, but Not Entirely
Signing up for one of the leading roles in the show, the actress probably knew she wouldn’t handle the entire source material anyway, so she found another solution to the problem.
Despite having a script all laid out for her, Turner was still willing to see how Sansa is portrayed by George Martin, so she read A Song of Ice and Fire, but only those parts that involved her character’s participation.
“I read the books season by season but my chapters. Sorry guys. Because well…the books are really complicated. I can only just about manage the TV series. They’re amazing but complicated. So, I just kind of know my storyline”, the actress revealed at a Game of Thrones press conference several years ago.
George Martin’s Future A Song of Ice and Fire Instalments Will Be Even More Challenging
If there were some fans out there who thought Martin wouldn’t wrap his story up with as many pages as the previous books had, that’s bad news for them. Despite being late for 15 years, the author keeps working on two final books, even though Martin himself isn’t sure he’ll handle all this after all.
Still, the writer has in fact made some progress, which he confirmed by revealing that he had already written around 1200 pages for The Winds of Winter and plans to include 400 or 500 pages more, making it a total of around 3000 pages for both The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.
The release date (or at least year) for the former isn’t clear yet, though Martin seems to be positive about his next book’s drop happening quite soon.
