Long-running sci-fi franchise is cherished by fans not only because of the interesting intergalactic adventures, but also because of the great chemistry between the crew members.

Star Trek has been around for ages, constantly introducing new TV series and films since 1966, becoming one of the biggest media franchises in history. And fans are perfectly fine with the introduction of new characters in each iteration of the space opera, eager to learn more about the unique and fascinating world of Star Trek. But behind the action-packed journeys through the universe the creators always find a place for romance, allowing viewers to get to know the characters better.

Here's the list of romantic episodes that proved to be the most touching for fans on Reddit.

A Difficult Dilemma (Star Trek: Voyager: Season 2, Episode 25)

In an episode called "Resolutions", Captain Janeway and Chakotay are infected with an incurable and deadly virus and are forced to stay together on a secluded planet that negates the effects of the disease. Janeway and Chakotay struggled to decide whether to seek a possible cure, wasting their lives, or stay on the planet, enjoying a loving but doomed life together.

Of course, eventually they were able to find a way to beat the disease, but their future friendship was always overshadowed by these thoughts, creating a slight sense of a romance that was always around.

Telepathic Flirt (Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season 7, Episode 8)

Two of the show's favorite characters found themselves imprisoned in an alien world, with brain implants that enabled them both to hear each other's thoughts. While it certainly helped to get out of captivity, Picard and Dr. Crusher shared quite a bit between them, so when they decided to talk in the final scene, it was clear that something was brewing between them. They flirted over Picard's vivid dreams and laughed at the fact that they had interesting thoughts about each other while they were awake.

Fans loved the idea of two people explaining their feelings without saying a word, and were disappointed that their relationship was not explored at all in later episodes.

Reluctant Lover (Star Trek: Voyager: Season 3, Episode 16)

In one of the most unusual episodes of Star Trek called "Blood Fever", Paris had to fight off B'Elanna Torres since she was trying to sleep with him. Normally Paris wouldn't have minded, but B'Elanna was acting this way because of a chemical imbalance in her brain that made her behave rather aggressively in order to find a mate.

Paris didn't even think to use this situation and take advantage of Torres when she's vulnerable, telling B'Elanna that he would have enjoyed being with her if her words had come from her heart rather than her mating instincts. So, when there was a romantic moment between them later in the next season, fans were happier than ever.
